Aegon UK hires group marketing director

Aegon UK has appointed Paul McMahon as Aegon UK group marketing director. He joins from Friends Provident where he was managing director, UK Corporate.

As a result of the new appointment Andy Marchant, life and pensions marketing director, will leave Aegon.

McMahon will be in charge new marketing strategy in light of the Retail Distribution Review and also as Aegon concentrates on workplace savings and ‘at retirement’ solutions.

He was previously managing director, corporate benefits at Axa. Prior to this, he held a number of director level roles at Axa.

Aegon UK chief executive, Otto Thoresen, said: “Paul has specific skills in the wrap and platform markets which will dovetail well with Aegon’s proposition development. This is an exciting appointment
