General insurance provider Uinsure has appointed a new business development manager (BDM) for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Alastair Main (pictured) joins from Select & Protect where he was key account manager. He previously worked as both a mortgage consultant and business development manager at Northern Rock.
Jason Berry, director of sales at Uinsure, said: “I am delighted to welcome Alastair to the team. These are incredibly exciting times for Uinsure as we continue to strengthen our position as the leading GI provider for the intermediary market.
“Having someone with Alastair’s expertise and understanding of the broker market on board will enable us to grow the brand further and, by doing so, offer even more brokers the chance to increase their income with our market-leading proposition.”
Main added: “I am thrilled to be joining Uinsure. Aside from being the leading name in GI, what attracted me to the position was the dedication the company has to the intermediary market. Everything it does is done with the needs of the broker market in mind.
“Having worked with mortgages brokers for some time I know what they want from a provider – efficiency, competitiveness and effective use of technology to improve the working lives of intermediaries – and I’m pleased to be joining a company that delivers on all three counts.”
