TMG launches consumer advice business

Published on

TMG Mortgage Network has launched a consumer-facing business offering mortgage, protection and later life lending advice.

TMG Financial Services will operate alongside the Rotherham-based network, giving consumers direct access to advisers working under its compliance framework.

The business will handle enquiries from clients buying their first home, remortgaging, reviewing their protection needs or considering later life lending. Consumers can request a no-obligation consultation through the TMG Financial Services website.

TMG said advisers would be based at its Rotherham headquarters to serve enquiries arising from the group’s community, education and partnership work. The company intends to use the town as a test case for a local advice and financial education model that could later be adopted elsewhere in the UK.

The group also plans to support financial education in schools, colleges, sports clubs, workplaces and other community settings. This work will cover general financial awareness and life skills rather than product sales or individual financial advice.

Scott Thorpe (pictured), chief executive of TMG Mortgage Network and TMG Financial Services, said: “Since founding TMG in 2021, our ambition has always been to build something that genuinely stands out in this industry. TMG Financial Services is the next step in that journey.

“We are proud to be headquartered in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, and our work in the community has shown us how important accessible financial education and advice really is. Too many people leave school without understanding money, mortgages, protection or the financial decisions they will face in adult life.

“TMG FS gives us a platform to support families directly, but also to build something bigger around education, schools and community impact.”

Nicholas Jenkinson, managing director of TMG Mortgage Network and TMG Financial Services, added: “What makes TMG special is its people. The advisers within this network are genuinely among the best in the business, and TMG Financial Services gives us another platform to showcase that expertise.

“The strength of this model is that it combines national adviser expertise with local trust. We can support clients directly, learn what works, and use those lessons to help strengthen advice-led communities across the UK.”

TMG Financial Services is an appointed representative of TMG Mortgage Network. Its advisers are established members of the network and will operate within the group’s existing regulatory and compliance arrangements.

TMG Mortgage Network was founded in 2021 and supports advisers and appointed representative firms with compliance, systems, training, lender and provider relationships, and business development.
