Bridging Soup launches major market research initiative

Published on

Bridging Soup has launched a new research initiative to build a clearer picture of how the UK bridging finance market is changing and what brokers and property professionals now need from lenders.

The survey explores experiences and expectations across the sector, including how market conditions are evolving, where opportunities are emerging and what lenders could do to improve their products, criteria and service.

Professionals working across bridging, mortgage and property finance are being encouraged to contribute their views.

The findings will help identify the issues shaping the market and provide lenders, brokers and other stakeholders with valuable insight into the priorities of those arranging and using short-term finance.

The survey should take between five and 10 minutes to complete. Everyone who takes part will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Virgin Experience Days voucher.

Selected findings will also be shared with participants and published across Opus First Media’s Bridging Soup, Mortgage Soup and Property Soup titles, providing the industry with an independent snapshot of market sentiment.

The research comes as bridging finance continues to support an increasingly broad range of property transactions. Alongside traditional chain-break and auction purchases, short-term funding is being used for refurbishment, development exits, conversions, complex acquisitions and transactions where speed or flexibility is crucial.

Against this backdrop, Opus First Media wants to understand what is working well, where the market is falling short and how lender propositions may need to evolve.

Robyn Hall and Kevin Rose, publishing directors and co-founders of Opus First Media, said: “Bridging is a dynamic and fast-moving part of the property finance market, but its continued development depends on lenders understanding what brokers and their clients genuinely need.

“This research is an opportunity for people working at the sharp end of the market to tell us what they are seeing, how their requirements are changing and where they believe lenders could do more.

“We want to capture an honest picture of the market and turn those individual experiences into meaningful industry insight. The more people who participate, the more useful and representative the findings will be.”

Participants will have an opportunity to influence the conversation about the future of bridging finance while contributing to research that will be shared with the wider industry.

The survey can be completed here and closes on 7 August.

Anyone completing the survey will be entered automatically into the £250 Virgin Experience Days voucher prize draw, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
