The Leeds supports Asthma UK with help from Bagpuss

Leeds Building Society is supporting Asthma UK by selling pin badges of the children’s T.V. character Bagpuss.

All of the Society’s 65 national branches are participating by offering the Bagpuss pin badges, for a suggested donation of £1, until Friday 16 December 2011.

Asthma affects 5.4 million people in the UK, this equates to 1 in 5 households, 1 in 12 people and 1 in 11 children. It leads to 200 emergency hospital admissions every day, and three people a day die from asthma.

Furthermore, 90% of the deaths from asthma are preventable.
