Sort Group opens new office

Sort Group, the parent of online conveyancing portal, SortRefer, has opened of its new offices in Derby.

At 6000 sq. feet, the new offices are 10 times the size of the original offices in Etwall, where SortRefer was founded. The new offices provide space for future growth as well as a communal foyer and recreation space.

Sort Group has recently launched its own law firm to complement the existing panel of conveyancers, and is in the process of launching into new sectors of interest to the intermediary market.

Existing customers and supplier partners along with employees were invited to celebrate the opening which was held at the new offices.

Kevin Tunnicliffe, Sort Group’s CEO, said: “The new offices really do show how far Sort has come in the last few years. We started out in a very small space and rather than spend money on swanky offices as our success grew, we decided to wait and poured our resources into building and improving the infrastructure for our online portal, which has been the cornerstone of our success in the provision of conveyancing services.

“We started looking for new premises over two years ago, and began moving in and setting up the space in October 2016 before officially completing the move in March 2017. Since, we’ve done a few cosmetic changes, with brand new carpets, a new fitted kitchen, with more plans to follow in the future.

“Sort Group and particularly SortRefer has demonstrated how technology can revolutionise the way in which conveyancing services can be accessed and streamlined. However, I believe that technology works best in partnership with a human touch. Without the input and dedication of our staff, we would not be in the strong position we are today with a proposition that continues to convert advisers to our philosophy of marrying the best of technology with the savvy and knowledge that only a human being can offer.”
