Sort Group launches podcast on conveyancing reform

Sort Group is launching a podcast series focused on the pressures facing conveyancing and the wider changes needed across the home-buying process.

The first episode of The Next Move in Conveyancing is due to go live on Tuesday 14 April, with the series hosted by Sort Group chief executive Kevin Tunnicliffe.

The podcast has been set up to examine the operational and structural issues affecting the property transaction process, with discussion set to cover completion times, customer expectations, industry collaboration and the use of technology.

According to Sort Group, the series will bring together contributors from across the property sector to discuss both the challenges facing conveyancing professionals and the opportunities for improvement.

The opening episode features Tunnicliffe and Keith introducing the series and discussing their own routes into the industry. It will also consider whether the home-buying process remains fit for purpose in 2026, alongside the role of sector-wide initiatives including levelling up and Project 28.

Later episodes are due to feature guests including Louise Stephens-Pantoja of LPL and Sam Cerrone of Cerrone Estates. Their discussions are expected to focus on the day-to-day realities of modern conveyancing, as well as the need for closer working relationships between brokers, estate agents and legal professionals.

Other themes scheduled for the series include the value of conveyancing services, the need to build trust across the transaction chain, improving client understanding of the process, and balancing technology with customer service to produce better outcomes for buyers and sellers.

Sort Group said the podcast will also address wider concerns around workload and burnout within conveyancing, while looking at how the sector might improve both staff wellbeing and the client experience.

Tunnicliffe said: “The property industry is full of passionate professionals who genuinely want to improve the moving process, but too often we don’t create the space to have open and constructive conversations about what needs to change.

“The Next Move in Conveyancing is about bringing those voices together. We want to explore the realities of the industry today, share ideas, and highlight the opportunities that can help move the sector forward.”

The series will combine longer-form interviews with shorter quick-fire questions, and will be available through YouTube, Apple and Spotify.
