Shawbrook backs Carmichael Homes’ canal-side development in Falkirk

Published on

A multi-million-pound funding facility from Shawbrook Bank is supporting Carmichael Homes’ latest project, The Moorings – a 40-home residential development in Reddingmuirhead, Falkirk.

The scheme will transform a disused brownfield site beside the Union Canal into an energy-efficient neighbourhood featuring a mix of three-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached houses.

Prices range from £245,000 to £335,000, with all properties designed to achieve a minimum EPC rating of B. The development also includes landscaped communal areas and electric vehicle charging points.

The funding, structured by Shawbrook’s specialist property team, provides Carmichael Homes with a flexible solution to support its multi-site activity and maintain momentum across the build programme.

Douglas Spowart, relationship director for Scotland at Shawbrook, said: “Carmichael Homes has established an excellent reputation across the central belt of Scotland for delivering high-quality developments with character and community at their core.

“We’re delighted to support The Moorings, which not only brings much-needed new homes to the area but also revitalises a key brownfield site – turning underused land into thriving, energy-efficient family homes.”

Scott Carmichael, managing director of Carmichael Homes, added: “The Moorings is about creating a community where people can enjoy space, sustainability and design that stands the test of time.

“Shawbrook really understood that vision and they listened, tailoring the facility to our needs, and gave us the confidence to focus on delivering homes we’re proud of.”

The Moorings marks the latest in a series of residential projects for Carmichael Homes as it expands across central Scotland, with Shawbrook’s facility designed to provide funding certainty and support future phases of growth.
