New hire

Darren Lee is joining PruProtect as director of underwriting and claims.

He joins the protection provider from Canada Life, where he held the post of deputy chief underwriter.

His previous employment includes spells with Swiss Re and RGA as well as having run his own underwriting consultancy business.

Lee will take up his new post in December, following the retirement of the current incumbent, Paul Gyseman, who had held the position since the company’s UK launch.

“Having established ourselves as one of the UK’s fastest growing and most innovative insurers, it was vital we brought in someone with real pedigree to continue to build on our success,” said Deepak Jobanputra, actuarial and product director.

“Darren brings with him a wealth of experience and shares our enthusiasm for service excellence, with a focus on superb customer outcomes.”
