The 1,000 mark for applications to join the Conveyancing Quality Scheme has been surpassed.

The Law Society said it has received 1,034 applications from firms seeking to join the scheme and that the numbers were continuing to rise.

The aim of the scheme is to reinforce consistency of standards throughout the conveyancing process and give consumers “peace of mind”” with home buying.
