The Mansfield launches affordability calculator

The Mansfield Building Society has introduced a new, web-enabled affordability calculator.

The new affordability calculator, available on the Mansfield’s website, is mobile responsive and includes recent improvements made by the Society including use of the latest ONS data.

epiGenesys, a University of Sheffield company, worked with the Society to develop the new calculator’s functionality and design. A Pass, Fail or Refer response is issued in real time.

Steve Walton, national development manager for the Mansfield, said: “Brokers are looking to technology to help improve their experience so it’s important that we continue to react to this need. By having a fully responsive web-enabled affordability calculator we are able to reach out to more brokers and offer an improved online experience, complementing the personal approach we have become famous for.

“We’re looking to introduce further enhancements to our online proposition later this year and having the web-enabled calculator is just the latest step on this journey. We continue to invest to ensure that intermediaries have access to the tools necessary to make dealing with The Mansfield as easy as possible.”

Anthony Nettleship, technical director at epiGenesys, added: “As web developers, we have experience of working on complex regulatory projects and knew the spotlight would be on accuracy. We took great care to assess the project brief and were able to build the detail needed to meet The Mansfield’s requirements.

“We can see the new affordability calculator offering increased value to the Society and its brokers.”
