Lloyds strengthens housing development team

Lloyds Banking Group has strengthened its housing development team with a new specialist role and two senior appointments as it looks to deepen support for homebuilders, housing associations and brokers operating in the new-build market.

The lender has introduced a revised team structure designed to place greater emphasis on specialist expertise while continuing to work alongside its existing BDM network.

As part of the changes, Gina Burrows (main picture, inset left) has been appointed affordable housing partnerships manager, a newly created role focused on strengthening the Group’s relationships with housing associations and registered providers.

Burrows, who previously served as national housing development manager at Lloyds Banking Group, will lead engagement across the affordable housing sector, support the development of shared ownership and affordable housing propositions, and represent the lender across industry bodies and government initiatives.

NEW BUILD LENDING

The lender has also appointed Gemma Clark (main picture, inset right) as national housing development manager. Clark joins from Nationwide Building Society, where she most recently held the position of intermediary proposition manager.

In her new role, she will work with major housebuilders and brokers specialising in new-build lending across London, the South East, South West and Home Counties regions, helping to improve access to home ownership through new-build initiatives.

The appointments come as lenders, developers and housing providers face growing pressure to increase housing supply and expand affordable routes into home ownership.

Andy Dean, head of housing development and sustainability at Lloyds Banking Group, said the changes reflected the importance of specialist expertise in supporting the delivery of new homes.

“Access to housing, particularly affordable routes into home ownership, is fundamental to what we do, and to do that we need a team not just capable of delivering for the now but also with the vision to help deliver the future.”

RIGHT EXPERTISE

He added: “Gina brings real depth of experience and credibility in affordable housing to the newly created role of affordable housing partnerships manager where she will be a strong partner to housing associations and providers across the sector.

“I’m also pleased to welcome Gemma to the team. Her experience and energy will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our support for home builders and brokers.”

Dean said that the revised structure would help Lloyds bring together the right expertise and partnerships to support housing delivery and help more people onto the property ladder.
