Joint venture seeks to expand commercial finance in Scotland

Watts Commercial Finance has joined forces with Edinburgh-based Cox & Co to launch Cox & Co Commercial, a new venture aimed at strengthening commercial finance provision across Scotland.

The partnership formalises a long-standing relationship between the two firms, combining Watts’ national reach with Cox & Co’s local presence in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The new business will focus on delivering full-service commercial finance solutions to businesses and individuals throughout Scotland.

Watts Commercial Finance is a brokerage which operates across the UK with tailored finance solutions, while Cox & Co has built a reputation as a trusted property and mortgage firm in Scotland. By combining resources, the firms say they will offer seamless access to commercial finance in a market where demand for flexible funding remains strong.

As part of the launch, Caitlin Delaney (pictured) has been appointed as the joint venture’s first local representative. She brings more than five years’ experience at Santander UK to her new role as commercial manager, where she will support businesses in navigating finance options.

Phil Gray, managing director at Watts Commercial Finance, said: “Our long-standing partnership with Cox & Co has always been built on trust, shared values and results.

“Formalising this into Cox & Co Commercial gives us the platform to really scale our impact across Scotland.

“With Caitlin joining the team, we’re not just growing our coverage but we’re committed to setting a higher standard of service for Scottish businesses seeking commercial finance.”

NATURAL EVOLUTION

John Cox, managing director of Cox & Co, added: “Partnering with Watts Commercial Finance to launch Cox & Co Commercial has been a natural evolution, born from mutual respect and a shared commitment to excellence.

“By combining our local market expertise with Watts Commercial Finance’s national reach, we are confident that Cox & Co Commercial will deliver a high level of service and value to businesses across Scotland.”

For Delaney, the new venture represents an opportunity to shape the firm’s growth. She said: “I am thrilled to be joining Cox & Co Commercial as a commercial manager at such an exciting time for the business.

“This new chapter represents a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a company known for its client-first approach.

“I look forward to driving commercial growth, building strong partnerships, and helping shape the next stage of success for Cox & Co Commercial.”
