HSBC cuts rates across residential and buy-to-let mortgage ranges

HSBC UK is reducing rates across a wide range of residential and buy-to-let mortgage products from 22 June, with changes covering first-time buyers, home movers, remortgage customers and existing borrowers.

The lender has confirmed a series of rate reductions across its residential and buy-to-let mortgage ranges, effective from Monday 22 June.

The changes affect a broad selection of products available to first-time buyers, home movers, remortgage customers and existing borrowers looking to switch products or borrow additional funds. Reductions have also been applied to a number of energy-efficient mortgage products for properties with EPC ratings of A or B.

Within the residential range, rate cuts have been made across two-year, three-year and five-year fixed-rate products at a variety of loan-to-value bands. The changes cover first-time buyer, home mover, remortgage and existing customer switching products, including selected Premier-exclusive and high-value mortgage options.

HSBC has also reduced rates across parts of its buy-to-let proposition, including remortgage products and products for existing buy-to-let customers. Changes extend to selected energy-efficient buy-to-let mortgages and international residential and buy-to-let remortgage products.

The lender said no further changes are being made to other mortgage rates at this time.

HSBC reminded brokers that Premier mortgage rates remain available only to existing HSBC Premier current account holders. Where a Premier account is not open before submission, a rate from the standard range must be selected.

To secure existing product codes, applications must be submitted in full by midnight on Sunday 21 June. HSBC said all evidential and supporting documentation must then be provided within 30 calendar days of submission.

The lender added that its product finder tool and sourcing systems will be updated on Monday 22 June to reflect the revised pricing.

HSBC also reminded brokers that cases which are no longer proceeding can be cancelled using the ‘Cancel’ button within the broker dashboard.
