Hope Capital expands Shawbrook funding facility

Published on

Hope Capital Property Finance has increased its committed funding facility with Shawbrook Bank to £50 million as the specialist lender expands its capacity for bridging loans.

The latest agreement builds on a relationship that began with a £15 million facility in 2023 and was followed by increases in 2024 and 2025.

Hope Capital said the expanded facility reflected its recent growth and formed part of a broader effort to diversify its sources of funding.

Earlier this quarter, the lender increased a committed senior funding line facilitated by Triple Point to £75 million. It also secured its first £35 million committed facility from Hampshire Trust Bank in June.

The three arrangements give Hope Capital £160 million of committed funding.

The lender reported that its loan book grew by 61% during 2025, while applications increased by 86% and the number of funded facilities rose by 46%. Its lending pipeline grew by 15%, while loans exceeding their agreed term fell by 49%.

Hope Capital said the expansion had continued into 2026, with enquiries up by 45% year on year and applications rising by 30%.

Warren Mutch, head of speciality and fund finance at Shawbrook, said: “Hope Capital Property Finance has delivered consistent and sustainable growth, underpinned by disciplined underwriting and a clear strategic direction.

“It’s been rewarding to support the business over several years as our partnership has evolved, and this latest increase reflects both the strength of the relationship and our confidence in the team as they continue to expand.”

Kate Cowan (pictured, right), chief financial and operating officer at Hope Capital Property Finance, added: “This enhanced facility strengthens our day-to-day operational capacity and ensures we are well positioned to manage increasing volumes while maintaining the standard of service we are known for.

“Our focus remains on scaling sustainably and continuing to build on the success we’ve had.”

Jonathan Sealey (pictured, left), chief executive officer at Hope Capital Property Finance, said: “The continued support from Shawbrook Bank is a significant endorsement of both our performance and our long-term strategy.

“Alongside our recent funding milestones with Triple Point and Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB), this enhanced facility ensures we have the strength, flexibility and liquidity to continue supporting brokers and borrowers as demand for specialist bridging finance continues to grow.

“As we continue to expand, maintaining strong relationships with trusted funding partners remains central to our strategy and our ability to deliver market-leading service.”
