CHL Mortgages has been independently assessed for its training and received the Accreditation of Employer Training from the National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS).

The NSAFS Accreditation Scheme was introduced two years ago and has accredited firms across England and Wales. To achieve the necessary standards and receive accreditation, employers’ training has to support both new and existing employees and deliver the outcomes required by sponsoring departments.

CHL’s employee training was assessed onsite with a focus on the delivery of five key areas: leadership; people and strategy; resources and processes; products and services; and outcomes.

The NSAFS have presented CHL with a plaque to display, plus it has also been placed in the ‘Accreditation Hall of Fame’ and can now use the Accreditation of Employer Training logo on all training and marketing materials.

CHL has been working with the NSAFS for the past two years and its staff have been working through the Leadership and Management Programme. Currently, 12 CHL employees are undertaking Level 3 and six are currently working through Level 5.

“Training and continuous professional development are at the heart of what we offer to CHL employees and management, and it is important that the courses, seminars, workshops and qualifications we offer are fit for purpose,” said Bob Young (pictured), managing director at CHL Mortgages.

“This is why we agreed to be independently assessed by the NSAFS and we are pleased they have found our training is of the highest standards. A great deal of credit goes to our HR manager, Lorraine Tillet, who is committed to ensuring our training programmes are not just suitable but also of the highest quality in order to ensure staff members get the most out of the work they put in.

“We have developed a training and qualification culture within the business and securing this Accreditation from the NSAFS shows we can benchmark our programme against the best, not just in the UK, but across the whole of Europe. CHL continues to work closely with the NSAFS and our staff will benefit from the range of programmes they have to offer.”
