Pickersgill (pictured) said: “Birketts is recognised as a one of the top UK law firms and is consistently rated in the top bandings in the leading legal directories. I am delighted to be joining a team with such an extensive property offering.

Kath Herbert, partner and head of Birketts’ commercial property team in Cambridge, added: “Nick is a fantastic addition to the team. His experience covers all aspects of commercial property transactions. He has acted for a wide variety of public and private sector clients, including Housing Associations, Further and Higher Education colleges, financial institutions and property developers.

“He has also advised both landlords and tenants, those disposing or acquiring land, banks and corporate clients advising on the property aspects of corporate acquisitions and disposals and on the refinancing and securitisation of larger commercial and residential property portfolios.

“Birketts is recognised by Chambers UK 2015 as the only firm in East Anglia to have achieved ‘National Leaders (outside London)’ status in the real estate category. In addition to our significant commercial property expertise, we also advise clients on the planning and construction process and have established agricultural land, premium sales teams.”
