Specialist property lender Together has begun an £8m redevelopment of its Greater Manchester headquarters, the largest upgrade to its workplace since the business relocated to Cheadle Royal Business Park in 2012.
The scheme will create a new link between the company’s Lakeside and Lake View buildings at Stockport, with facilities including a double-height reception, business lounge, hi-tech boardroom, break-out areas, a gym, shower block and hairdressing salon. The canteen and kitchen will also undergo refurbishment.
Work is being led by principal contractor Barnfield Construction, which last month began demolishing the existing Lakeside façade following planning consent from Stockport Borough Council in 2023.
The project team includes architects C4 Projects, interior and principal designer XO Square, structural and civil engineer XO Square, employers’ agents Artal, and mechanical and electrical design consultants Speakman Contractors. Assent has been appointed as construction, design and management advisor.
The redevelopment is expected to be completed by summer 2026.
Richard Rowntree, chief executive of Together, said: “This is the largest transformation of our working environment since Together moved to its current headquarters in 2012. Our colleagues are our most important asset and it’s crucial to provide them with the state-of-the-art facilities and a modern, accessible workplace, to make sure they have the best possible working environment.
“We are one of the UK’s largest specialist lenders with a loan book of nearly £8bn and this latest project underlines not only our commitment to Cheadle Royal Business Park but the wider, thriving commercial property market in Greater Manchester.”
Together, which employs more than 850 people, is one of the UK’s largest specialist lenders, with a loan book valued at £8bn.
