The Teachers appoints finance & ops chief

Angela Evans

Angela Evans has joined Teachers Building Society as its finance and operations director.

Evans (pictured) spent 20 years at Chelsea Building Society and more recently as a finance director at a national IFA network.

She has held board positions in specialist lending and mortgage insurance companies.

James Bawa, chief executive of Teachers Building Society, said: “We’ve had an exciting couple of years here at Teachers: successfully re-entering the intermediary channel, seeing lending to first-time buyers more than double in 2012 and embarking on a new strategy for strong & steady growth over the next 10 years.

“Angela’s appointment is a key element of that strategy and her new role is designed to incorporate the operational areas including information technology, customer experience and finance as well as sales.

“I’m delighted to welcome Angela Evans to the team here at Teachers and know that she will make a very positive impact in driving the Society’s sales and operational strategy into the future.”
