Leeds Building Society has appointed Tom Tinkler as its general manager of operations.

Tinkler (pictured) will have responsibility for the mortgage lending, customer services and collections departments of the mutual.

He spent the last 10 years with the insurance broker Aon UK and, prior to that, had eight years leading servicing and operations within First Direct.

Tinkler said: “I will use my previous experience to bring a new perspective to work with my teams to drive continued operational excellence, and improved and sustained customer service.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining a very successful and customer focused organisation.”

Karen Wint, Leeds Building Society’s operations director, added: “I am delighted to welcome Tom to our team. As we take our next steps in driving a very ambitious growth plan for Leeds Building Society, Tom’s experience will help to define and deliver the target operating model we need to ensure we build on our success.”
