The Exeter increased gross premium income by 8% to £135 million in 2025, while membership rose by 3.5% as the mutual reported strong growth across its health, income protection and life insurance businesses.
Speaking at its Annual General Meeting, the insurer said gross premium income increased from £125.1 million in 2024 to £135 million in 2025.
Health insurance new business premiums remained steady at £19.1 million, while income protection recorded the strongest growth, with new business premiums rising by 21.6% to £7 million from £5.8 million a year earlier.
Life insurance also delivered higher volumes of new business, with premiums increasing from £3.7 million in 2024 to £5.6 million in 2025.
The mutual’s membership increased by 3.5% during the year to 151,503 members. It also reported paying a record number of claims during 2025.
Demand for member support services continued to grow, with downloads of the Healthwise member app increasing by 69%. The app achieved a user rating of 4.7 out of five.
During the year, The Exeter also launched a partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support as its corporate charity partner for 2025. Employees raised £48,000 for charitable causes.
