The Exeter adds features to HealthWise app

Published on

The Exeter has made improvements to its member benefits app, HealthWise, which provides benefits to help members manage a healthy lifestyle.

IP and PMI members will now be able to take advantage of up to six consultations each year with registered Health & Care Professions Council dietitians, providing one-on-one support for their dietary needs. Those with special dietary requirements due to health conditions, such as coeliac disease or diabetes, will also be able to benefit from the added consultations.

Members will also be able to access up to six consultations every year with a qualified nutritionist, designed to help individuals manage a range of lifestyle factors that can affect their health and wellbeing, such as stress management, poor sleep, and low exercise levels.

By using these additional services, the Exeter estimates that members could save up to £1,800, reaffirming the benefits of value-added services.

Last year, The Exeter saw usage of its HealthWise services more than double in 2020, with a 112% increase in year-on-year usage of its remote GP services. In addition, 91% of remote GP appointments provided advice or an onward referral, and 99% of ongoing mental health support was delivered remotely.

Steve Bryan, director of distribution & marketing at the Exeter, said: “HealthWise has proven to be of real value to our members throughout the pandemic, as reflected by record usage and registrations last year. Although the rollout of the vaccine and the government’s roadmap out of lockdown is moving us closer to normality, we’ve learnt that circumstances can change rapidly and we’re not out of the woods just yet. So, it’s important that we continue to offer a range of market leading support to our members in times of ongoing uncertainty.

“The addition of dietitian and lifestyle and nutrition consultations is part of our commitment to be being a driving force in the provision of remote healthcare solutions, especially as the NHS continues to face challenges. We have developed these solutions with our members in mind and are confident that they will be widely embraced by customers, whilst helping to alleviate some of the pressure on our front-line heroes.”
