Tanya Elmaz, managing director of intermediary sales at property lender Together, has been co-opted to the board of the Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA).
The association, formerly known as the Association of Short Term Lenders, was launched in 2008 with the aim of growing both the size and reputation of the bridging and development lending sector.
Elmaz brings around two decades of experience in financial services, with a particular focus on specialist lending and the intermediary market.
She began her career at Together as a business development manager covering Central and Greater London. She has since progressed to her current role, where she leads and manages the lender’s intermediary sales team. Together has an £8 billion loan book.
During her career, Elmaz has built a reputation for supporting brokers and intermediary partners through straightforward lending solutions, working across both regulated and unregulated lending.
Commenting on her appointment, Elmaz said: “I’m delighted to join the BDLA board and contribute to the important work the association is doing to raise standards and promote professionalism in our industry.
“At Together, I am always looking to strengthen broker relationships through education and practical guidance, and I’m passionate about finding solutions for complex scenarios and helping intermediaries navigate the specialist lending landscape. I believe this drive will really help to take the association forward.
“The bridging and development sector plays a vital role in supporting property projects across the UK, and I look forward to working with my fellow board members to champion best practice and drive positive change.”
Adam Tyler, chief executive of the BDLA, said: “Tanya is going to be a real asset to the BDLA board. We have worked alongside each other on a number of occasions and at different events.
“She has a real enthusiasm for the industry and will certainly bring that to the board, along with her knowledge, experience and forward thinking. I am really looking forward to working with Tanya again.”
