Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) has opened a new High Street mortgage shop in Swindon.

The new mortgage shop follows on from those opened in North Finchley and Chester last year, bringing MAB’s total to five.

Heading up the Swindon business are two of MAB’s appointed representative (AR) advisers, Jeremy Morcumb and Gary Price. They each have over 30 years of mortgage related experience with Morcumb also having co-founded Castles Estate Agents in Swindon in 2003.

Peter Brodnicki, chief executive of Mortgage Advice Bureau, said: “There are definite signs of a recovery in mortgage lending, with plenty of demand both from first time buyers and home movers, and we fully expect housing transactions to grow steadily over the next five years.

“The vast majority of mortgage brokers are not visible to the public on the High Street, but a mortgage shop branded as professionally as any mainstream lender can soon become the first stop for customers who want genuinely independent mortgage advice.

“Our mortgage proposition has never been stronger following last year’s acquisitions, and our mortgage shop ARs are supported by a comprehensive marketing and brand strategy to help them generate footfall and become a ‘one-stop shop’ for mortgage and protection advice in the local area. That is after all how MAB first started business in Derby in the mid-90s!

“The success we have enjoyed since then, with profits consistently growing by 35%+ in each of the last four years, means we can invest heavily to support both our advisers and AR partners. I expect this latest mortgage shop will be the first of many, and we are also adding two new telephone advice centres to support our AR firms in the South.”

Morcumb added: “Local residents can rely on us to do the legwork for them and compare all of the mortgage options, including exclusive products, from a long list of lenders. We also work closely with a wide range of estate agents and solicitors to take the strain out of the whole house moving experience.

“The fact we are open for six days a week and available until 7pm on most weeknights is a real advantage for people juggling busy working lives. Rather than take time out for a bank or building society appointment, they can visit at their leisure and look to us for simple, comprehensive and honest advice.”
