Stonebridge strengthens compliance team with new senior appointment

Mortgage and protection network Stonebridge has named Joanna Purdy as its new national compliance manager, strengthening its operational support and regulatory oversight.

Purdy (pictured) joins the network with over 20 years’ experience in financial services, more than half of which has been in leadership roles.

Most recently, she served as senior area supervision manager at PRIMIS Network, where she was also deputy chair of its inclusion and diversity forum.

At Stonebridge, she will report to Claire Chambers, head of compliance operations, with responsibility for overseeing field supervision and driving enhancements to compliance processes across the network.

Her role is central to ensuring robust support for appointed representative (AR) firms, as well as maintaining the group’s commitment to regulatory best practice.

Purdy’s experience spans the advisory, network and lender sides of the market. A former mortgage adviser, she has held senior compliance and supervision roles at Masthaven Bank, Dynamo and Think Mortgages. She holds both CeMAP and CeRER qualifications.

Stonebridge said Purdy’s comprehensive understanding of the adviser journey – from initial sales through to post-completion support – made her particularly well suited to the role.

Rob Clifford, chief executive at Stonebridge, said: “Joanna’s deep understanding of the end-to-end customer journey is the type of thing that sets her apart. She brings with her invaluable perspective and competence in addition to being a compliance professional.

“This key appointment underlines our focus on embedding best-in-class compliance practices at the heart of our operations, directly benefiting member firms and consumers alike, and we’re thrilled to welcome someone of Joanna’s calibre to our ever-growing team, at this exciting time for the network.”

Purdy described her decision to join Stonebridge as a natural next step in her career. “I was ready for a new challenge and Stonebridge offers me exactly that,” she said.

“The network’s strong industry reputation and commitment to both member firms and employees really appealed to me, and I’m excited now to help drive Stonebridge forward as part of a supportive and ambitious team.”
