Stonebridge cancer charity push raises £20k

Stonebridge Group raised over £20,000 during 2016 for its chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

During the course of the year, both staff and Stonebridge AR firms, advisers and business partners took part in a number of events in order to raise money for the charity.

The mortgage and insurance network itself committed to matching any monies raised and the eventual total for the year was £20,770, £7,000 of which was raised at its 2016 annual conference where all those who attended the dinner placed money in sealed envelopes and were entered into a prize draw.

Other events that took place during the year included dress-down days on every Friday, a Fashion Victim Coffee Morning, the Shine Night Walk, and a emulsion 5k run in which participants were pelted with paint as they made their way around the course.

During 2017 Stonebridge Group will once again be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Julie Murray, marketing and technology director at Stonebridge Group and Stonebridge Genus, said: “There are very few of us who haven’t been touched by cancer in some way and therefore choosing Macmillan Cancer Support as our charity partner for last year was very important to us.

“I’m delighted to say that our staff, AR firms, advisers and all business partners supported our efforts with some going way beyond the call of duty to raise money. Having matched the totals raised from the various events that took place we were very pleased to deliver over £20k to Macmillan throughout the course of 2016 and would once again like to thank all those who took part and those who gave their time, effort and money for this incredibly important charity.

“2017’s efforts have already started and, with the same level of support, we’re hoping to beat our 2016 total.”
