Stonebridge appointment to drive network expansion

Published on

Stonebridge has appointed Liz Obee as national recruitment manager as it looks to build on recent momentum and continue expanding its adviser network.

Obee (main picture) joins the mortgage and protection network from Mortgage Intelligence and started in the role last week. She will work alongside Lesley Sharkey, recruitment and growth director at Stonebridge, with a focus on attracting new member firms.

She brings more than 10 years’ experience as a mortgage and protection adviser, alongside a background in business development within the network sector.

Stonebridge said this gives her a strong understanding of the commercial and practical challenges faced by advisers.

Rob Clifford, chief executive at Stonebridge, said the appointment reflected the network’s continued investment in growth.

He said: “We’re thrilled to welcome someone of Liz’s calibre to our recruitment team, at this exciting time for the business. Her experience and knowledge of the network space make her a great fit for Stonebridge.”

Earlier in her career, Obee held roles at Countrywide and Moneysprite, before spending two years at Mortgage Intelligence as business development manager and network recruiter.

SUPPORT AND STRUCTURE

Commenting on her move, Obee said: “I joined Stonebridge because I wanted to fully focus on recruitment, and Stonebridge’s experienced recruitment team offers the support and structure that will allow me to thrive.

“The network’s excellent reputation among advisers, along with its award-winning status and cutting-edge technology, makes it a standout choice. I’m excited to be part of Stonebridge’s growth plans and look forward to contributing to its continued success.”

Stonebridge said it has grown its appointed representative membership consistently over the past eight years and now arranges more than £17 billion of lending annually.

Independent research published in October showed that the network added more authorised representatives than any other mortgage and protection network during the period reviewed.

The business said its growth has been supported by a continued focus on adviser support and the adoption of its proprietary mortgage adviser software platform, Revolution. The Essex-based firm now employs more than 200 people supporting mortgage and protection advice firms across the UK.
