Skipton IRMs help Birmingham MIND

Published on

14 members of staff at Skipton Intermediaries have joined together to support Birmingham MIND.

The intermediary relationship managers (IRM) from across the UK came together to provide a helping hand at a local care home. Colleagues spent a day painting several rooms at Charles Davis House residential home, in Horley, including a communal room, bedroom and bathroom.

Charles Davis House is a residential home which provides vital support to 13 adults experiencing mental health problems. This is run by Birmingham MIND, the largest independent mental health charity in the area, which offers a range of high quality services including; residential care, recovery services and a free wellbeing service – amongst many other things.

Mitchell Jackson, the intermediary relationship manager who organised the event, said; “I have volunteered for a number of charities over the years and I was presented with the opportunity to organise an activity to help a local charity in my region. I chose Birmingham MIND as mental health is a real focus at the moment, as a society we need to address this stigma that it has and acknowledge that it is a real illness.

“I am really proud of all my colleagues, who embraced the project. Being able to give something back to the community like this really is something worthwhile. I feel that we have added real value to Charles Davis House and have helped to make it a home away from home for their residents.”
