SimplyBiz’s Consumer Duty event sees over 1,500 bookings

SimplyBiz has reported that its upcoming virtual Compliance Clinic, focussing upon Consumer Duty Annual Report preparation, has received more than 1,500 bookings.

The hour-long event takes place on 15 April from 2pm and is part of a programme of Consumer Duty support provided by SimplyBiz.

Hosted by SimplyBiz’s compliance director, Paul Bruns, director of regulatory consultancy and advice quality, Jennifer Peaty, and head of policy, Sandy McGregor, the Clinic will explore the FCA’s requirements for firms to complete their Consumer Duty Annual Assessment by the end of July.

The session, which is one of over 400 events in SimplyBiz’s annual schedule, will also give guidance on the way in which firms are expected to use this process to continue to learn and make improvements, with the first annual assessment’s due for completion on 31 July.

Bruns said: “As we approach the first anniversary of the implementation of the Consumer Duty, with the requirement for firms to produce their first Annual Report imminent, the value of our support in this area is proving more important than ever.

“To date we have provided guidance through a number of channels including a dedicated online hub, face-to-face and virtual events, regular bulletins, a series of guides, focused audits, and access to relevant tech solutions – the Compliance Clinic is the latest addition to this range of support, and we’re pleased to see it’s proving extremely popular with members.

“Sandy, Jen, and I are hosting the event, but we’re bringing together the combined expertise of our compliance team – one of the biggest and most qualified in the sector – to build and deliver the Compliance Clinic, and I’m confident it will be enormously valuable to firms facing their first annual assessment.”
