The SimplyBiz Group has announced the launch of its Protection Academy, aimed at helping members improve their knowledge and understanding of the protection market.

The new online portal offers advisers who currently use the Simply Protect proposition with an online resource providing a range of training and development tools including fact sheets, role-play outlines, sales ideas and instructional videos.

The Protection Academy, which is supported by SimplyBiz Mortgages and the New Model Business Academy (NMBA), ultimately aims to improve advisers’ face to face skills when dealing with clients receiving advice on protection and the availability of free licences.

Martin Reynolds (pictured), CEO of SimplyBiz Mortgages, said: “We are very pleased to bring the Protection Academy to market, providing advisers with such a wide variety of resources. I believe that this new offering will be of much value and interest to advisers, whether they are experienced in the field of protection, are fairly new to this as a business area or simply in need of a refresher.

“Our latest proposition aims to help advisers have more profitable conversations with clients, understand better how protection can fit into clients’ financial plans and learn new sales techniques. This is the first of a number of new protection initiatives and we are confident it will be popular development amongst our members.”

Lee Travis, CEO of the New Model Business Academy, which helped in the development of the Protection Academy, added: “Protection is a vitally important piece of advice in the overall needs of clients, and can be a very profitable revenue stream for advisers.

“The NMBA is focussed around highlighting opportunities and developing businesses through education and we are certain that this additional investment into the advisory community can help users to realise greater potential in this area.”
