Shawbrook expands commercial sales team

Shawbrook Bank has recruited Rob Holt as a junior sales executive to its commercial mortgages division.

He will be part of the team that is the first point of contact for broker partners. As well as helping brokers determine whether new enquiries fit the lender’s criteria and advising them about process requirements, he will help to generate new business from broker partners in areas uncovered by field sales teams.

Holt (pictured) previously spent 27 years at HSBC, the last seven of which were based at the bank’s Canary Wharf headquarters.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in and getting to know Shawbrook’s broker panel. I particularly like the fact that Shawbrook is eager to lend to a range of clients including property investors and SMEs.

“My past experience includes working as a commercial franchise manager, so using these skills to assist Shawbrook’s brokers and support the field sales team is an exciting prospect.”

Karen Bennett, sales and marketing director for commercial mortgages, added: “A strong sales team is critical to a successful relationship with our brokers as they are on the frontline for new applications.

“Rob’s extensive experience in the industry will enable him to do an excellent job and give our brokers the support they need with initial enquiries.”
