Russell Quirk launches new podcast for mortgage brokers and property professionals

Published on

Seasoned property expert and TV pundit Russell Quirk is bringing his industry insights to a new audience with the launch of a podcast that tackles key issues in the UK property and mortgage sectors.

Commissioned by Radio News Hub – providers of radio content to 400 regional stations – Home Front aims to cut through the noise and offer buyers, sellers, tenants, mortgage brokers, lenders, estate agents and all property professionals valuable insights into the housing market.

The first episode features an interview with Ben Madden of luxury national estate agency Fine & Country discussing the role of estate agents and the justification behind their fees.

And Quirk (main picture) argues that estate agents need to be paid even more.

MARKET INSIGHTS

He comments on the show: “The estate agency fee in the UK is typically less than 1% of the sale price – one of the lowest commission rates globally.

“The media often paint estate agents as pantomime villains, but I think they get a raw deal. They provide a valuable service and don’t always get paid for their efforts.”
