Prudential hires UK insurance CEO

Prudential UK & Europe has announced the appointment of Clare Bousfield as CEO for insurance, subject to regulatory approval.

Bousfield has over 25 years’ experience in the insurance and financial services industries, and was a key leader in the strategic review and transformation of Aegon’s UK business.

She has held chief financial officer roles with Swiss Re and, most recently, with Aegon.

John Foley, chief executive of Prudential UK & Europe, said: “Securing someone of Clare’s calibre, with such relevant and extensive experience, was crucial for this important leadership role. I look forward to working with Clare to drive our insurance business forward.”

Bousfield added: “I am delighted to be joining Prudential at this exciting time in the company’s development and look forward to the opportunity to build still further this successful UK business that has such a strong heritage and well-recognised brand.”
