New hire

The Select Partnership has appointed Pete Thomson as an adviser.

Thomson, the former Mortgages plc sales director, will offer strategic support as The Select Partnership looks to position itself at the forefront of the specialist distribution market.

Thomson said: “The distributor market has experienced a resurgence recently as lenders look to generate volume and quality. This is at the heart of what is still commonly referred to as the ‘packager’ model and I’m delighted to be helping a renowned, long-established and committed organisation to achieve its aims.”

Shaun Vickery, managing director of The Select Partnership, added: “I think everyone can see the opportunity in the market at the moment with mortgage approvals rising and rates getting lower all the time.

“We are keen to make the most of this opportunity this gives us, and Pete’s knowledge of the broker market and his long-standing relationships will increase the share of market available to us.”

Thomson’s former colleague at Mortgages plc, Julian Wells, has also been contracted through his strategic marketing firm, Whitecap Consulting, to review the company’s marketing activity and boost its presence in the market.
