General insurance provider Paymentshield has appointed Craig Kerrigan to the role of strategic partnerships manager.

He will be responsible for managing Paymentshield’s new and existing technology partners.

Kerrigan (pictured) takes over from Brian Coulton, who leaves Paymentshield after four years at the company.

Kerrigan will lead on the development of embedded insurance journeys that create and drive value for mortgage advisers and Paymentshield’s strategic partners. He joins Paymentshield with over two decades of experience within financial services, the majority of which has been spent working with lenders and other providers to support advisers.

Most recently, Kerrigan has worked within the equity release sector in key account manager roles for Equity Release Supermarket, Key and More 2 Life. Prior to that, he spent several years in the CRM space working for Mortgage Brain and Iress.

His career in financial services commenced in 1999 at Legal & General, where he worked for 15 years in a range of roles, including head of e-deployment.

Emma Green, distribution director at Paymentshield, said: “I’m delighted to have Craig as part of the team. He is well known in the market and brings a wealth of experience from tech to equity release. We have huge plans for 2024 and 2025 to drive forward the Paymentshield proposition, where we’ll be forging partnerships with some fantastic market leading digital and lifestyle brands to really help empower adviser businesses in this challenging marketplace.

“Craig’s experience will be invaluable in helping to propel those conversations.”

Kerrigan added: “It’s a really exciting time to join Paymentshield, with big growth plans for next year and major new partnerships on the horizon. Watch this space.”
