Paragon has confirmed it is in talks to acquire Hampshire Trust.
The specialist lender said it is in the early stages of considering the acquisition of Hampshire Trust Plc, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Counties Building Society.
However, it said there is no certainty that a transaction will be concluded.
The acquisition of the bridging lender would also provide Paragon with a banking licence.
