They’ve seen it all. Now they’re sharing it all.
Welcome to Opus First Media.
Two of the mortgage industry’s most seasoned and respected journalists with over 50 years combined experience have launched a dynamic new publishing company for the mortgage, property, and personal finance sectors.
Opus First Media, based in London’s Covent Garden, is the brainchild of Kevin Rose and Robyn Hall, industry veterans with a rich legacy of producing hard-hitting editorial content and creating high quality, disruptive publications.
Opus First Media will initially publish two distinct yet complementary titles – Mortgage Soup and Property Soup.
MORTGAGE SOUP
Mortgage Soup is a dedicated publication designed for mortgage brokers, distributors, lenders and mortgage finance professionals.
Originally rebranded from the trusted BestAdvice platform, Mortgage Soup builds on its legacy to provide an even richer source of expert content, tailored specifically to the mortgage sector.
Rose (pictured, right) began his career as a business and finance journalist in 1997 and has been writing about the mortgage industry since 2001.
He was the editor of BestAdvice for 23 years and was editor-in-chief of the Niche trade titles, which included Niche Mortgages, Niche Personal Loans, Niche Commercial Finance and Niche International Property Adviser.

Hall (pictured, left) fellow Co-founder and Director, began his journalism career in 1994 and has been specialising in estate agency, property and mortgages since 1997.
MORTGAGE STRATEGY
He was the founding editor of Mortgage Strategy in 2001 and went on to become editor-in-chief of Centaur Media’s mortgage division overlooking titles including Lending Strategy, Mortgage Distributor and Loan Distributor.
He relaunched Mortgage Introducer in January 2010 and oversaw the creation of Bridging Introducer and Specialist Finance Introducer. He also spent the last two years as online news editor for The Negotiator.
Like Rose he has also written for a large number of newspapers and trade titles, including the Guardian, The Times, The Big Issue, What Mortgage and Mortgage Finance Gazette.
Both Rose and Hall have also acted as consultants to firms looking to maximise their online presence in the intermediary mortgage market.
“Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive coverage of the mortgage industry, giving brokers, distributors and lenders the tools to enhance their business operations and achieve greater success.”
Rose says: “Our mission is to provide high-quality, insightful and authoritative content that genuinely empowers professionals across the mortgage and property industries.”
Hall adds: “Our focus is on delivering high-quality, actionable information, from market analysis and regulatory updates to strategic advice and industry innovations.

And he adds: “We are covering a broad range of topics, including mortgage products, distribution strategies, compliance, technology in the mortgage sector and evolving business models.

MARKET LEADERS
Property Soup is also being positioned to be another market leader.
Hall says: “In today’s ever-evolving market, agents face a landscape filled with both challenges and opportunities, making it crucial to adapt and optimise strategies for sustained profitability.
“Our goal is to become the go-to destination for insights across the residential property spectrum, including estate and letting agents, landlords, and developers.”
Rose adds: “Our coverage spans every corner of the residential property market: from agency sales and lettings to conveyancing; proptech to regulation; business practices to charitable endeavours; new products, development, finance, and even architecture, law, and banking. If it touches the property industry, you’ll find it on Property Soup.”
