Offa opens larger Solihull office as workforce doubles

Islamic property finance provider Offa has opened a new headquarters in Solihull after doubling its workforce over the past year as demand for Sharia-compliant property finance continues to grow.

The company has officially opened its new office in Solihull at an event attended by representatives from the local civic and business community, including the leader of Solihull Council.

The move follows a period of expansion for the business, which has increased its headcount to 55 employees while broadening its range of halal property finance products.

Offa said the larger office will provide additional capacity to support future growth and continued investment in its people, technology and customer service.

The lender, which was founded in Solihull seven years ago, said the expansion reflects growing demand for ethical, Sharia-compliant property finance across the UK and reinforces its commitment to the West Midlands as a base for its operations.

Offa has close links to Birmingham, with three of its four directors born in the city. Its executive chairman, Sultan Choudhury OBE, was previously chief executive and part of the founding team at Al Rayan Bank, Britain’s first Islamic finance bank.

Choudhury said: “This is an important milestone for Offa. Doubling our team over the past year reflects the strength of demand for our products and the hard work of everyone across the business.

“Our new Solihull office gives us the space, infrastructure and presence we need for the next stage of our growth. We are proud to be building the business from the West Midlands and contributing to the region’s thriving financial services sector.”

Karen Grinsell, leader of Solihull Council, said: “I’m delighted to join Offa for the opening of their fantastic new Solihull offices. Companies like Offa play a vital role in our thriving fintech sector, bringing innovation, high-quality jobs and real energy to the borough.

“Their continued success, and their decision to stay and expand here in Solihull, is a powerful endorsement of what we offer as a place to do business in terms of outstanding connectivity, opportunity and lifestyle. We’re proud to support Offa as they take this exciting next step.”
