New buy-to-let toolbox for brokers

Published on

Goldsmith Williams has unveiled a free ‘buy-to-let toolbox’ for brokers to help them when dealing with buy-to-let clients.

The toolbox, which contains a guide on a wide range of buy-to-let issues, can be accessed via the GWLive site.

Eddie Goldsmith, founding partner of Goldsmith Williams, said: “As a leading legal firm in this market I have been thinking for some time that there is no ‘go to’ site for brokers who have buy-to-let clients where they can see a range of information about the sector, from the proposed Stamp Duty changes right through to what their clients need to do about the new Right to Rent requirements.

“This is an area where clients need to be informed before progress, for example, should they buy in their individual names or through a limited company? What are the pros and cons of a limited company buy-to-let and what would their responsibilities as company directors be if they went down that route?

“As a firm of solicitors I believe we are the ideal company to publish an ‘all you need to know’ guide.  What I am really excited about is how we can work with the broker community in helping to educate and inform their clients. We can even form the company for the clients if they want us to take care of everything.

“This is a first for a firm of solicitors and we are delighted to make this available free for the benefit of the community and their clients. All brokers need to do is to go to our website, GWLive, register with us if they are not already registered and download a copy for free.

“As for the future we intend to update and add to the Tool Box as we receive feedback and there are other developments. We are already working on Version 2.”
