NatWest Intermediary Solutions is expanding its corporate account team with the appointment of Luke Christodoulides as a new corporate account manager.

Christodoulides will be responsible for NatWest Intermediary Solutions’ relationships with a number of the larger intermediary networks and mortgage clubs.

For the last six years Christodoulides has been an area sales manager (ASM) for London & the South, managing a team of nine BDMs. He has worked for the RBS Group for over eight years in a number of intermediary sales positions for brands such as First Active, The One account and RBS Intermediary Partners.

Christodoulides will take up his new position in October.

NatWest is also currently recruiting up to 10 field-based business development managers (BDMs) and three sales managers as it looks to grow its broker-facing sales force. The first of its new field BDM recruits have been announced as Andrew Saunders and Joan Roberts.

Saunders will cover the West End of London and has a strong financial services background. He previously worked in the mortgage sector for both Abbey for Intermediaries and Northern Rock and has spent the last three years as a commercial financial planner for NatWest.

Roberts joins from ING where she played a central role in developing its high net worth proposition. She has also worked for CHL mortgages. Originally from Liverpool, Roberts has over 20 years experience in financial services and will be covering Central London.

NatWest has also bolstered its Norwich-based phone BDM team with the appointment of Gemma Wardale. She has worked for the RBS Group for seven years, most recently as a mortgage consultant in its retail channel.

Graham Felstead, head of intermediary mortgages, NatWest Intermediary Solutions, said: “We have significantly grown our appetite to lend this year and are looking to maintain this momentum into the foreseeable future. This means we need to recruit more talented individuals to ensure that we continue to deliver the service that brokers have come to expect from us. As well as expanding our corporate account team, we are currently recruiting for more BDMs, sales managers and people for our sales support team.

“I am delighted to be able to appoint somebody of Luke’s calibre to the corporate account team. Luke knows our business inside out and has a wealth of experience to call on having worked in the intermediary sector for many years. He will be a great addition to our corporate account team. I am equally pleased that we have been able to grow our presence in London with the appointments of Andrew and Joan. Both have demonstrated that they have the pedigree to make a real difference.”
