The MAB Foundation has launched a one-off £20,000 follow-on funding initiative to mark its first three full years of grant-giving.
The corporate charitable foundation of Mortgage Advice Bureau is inviting every charity it has supported up to December 2025 to apply for the unrestricted grant.
The initiative has been designed to provide additional funding while recognising the ongoing partnerships the foundation has built with charities working in local communities.
Since launching in 2022, the MAB Foundation has helped raise more than £550,000 for charitable causes and supported 66 charities across the UK.
In 2025, 44% of its grant funding supported children’s charities, with a further 10% supporting vulnerable young adults and 16% going to mental health initiatives.
Every charity supported by the foundation has been nominated by MAB staff, business partners or customers.
A total of 57 charities were invited to apply for the new funding initiative, with 35 submitting applications before the April deadline.
Applicants were asked to show the impact of their original grant through evidence-based submissions, including case studies, testimonials, measurable outcomes, supporting data and photography.
Following assessment by the Foundation Grant Committee, five charities will be shortlisted and invited to submit a short video showing the difference their work has made.
Each shortlisted charity will receive £1,000, while MAB colleagues will take part in a structured voting process to decide which organisation receives the final £20,000 award. Funding is expected to be awarded in mid-June.
The funding will be unrestricted, allowing the successful charity to use it in the way that best supports its work and the communities it serves.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Andy Frankish (main picture), chief executive of the MAB Foundation, said: “The MAB Foundation has always believed in building long-term relationships with the charities we support. Being able to see the impact these organisations have achieved and giving our people the opportunity to help decide where this special funding goes next is a fitting celebration of their incredible work.
“We also felt it was important to revisit the work of the charities we have supported over the last three years to better understand how our grants have made a difference, and how we can continue to improve our grant-making in the future.
“This milestone shows us that what we’re doing is not only a good thing, but the right thing, and that it works. At the MAB Foundation, we take our social responsibility seriously, and we remain committed to helping charities not just continue their work, but grow and prosper so they can support even more people in need.”
The foundation’s standard grant-giving programme will continue alongside the initiative, with the organisation targeting £250,000 a year in charitable funding.
