Legal & General has announced the appointment of Ali Crossley, as the new managing director, partnerships for its insurance division, LGI.

She joins the business on 4 March 2019, and will report to Bernie Hickman, CEO.

Crossley joins Legal & General from BGL, a digital distributor of insurance and household financial services, where she held the title of managing director, Junction.

Her key responsibilities included the strategy and value creation of 14 affinity partner brands, (including 02, RAC, M&S and Lloyds Banking Group).

Additionally, she oversaw business development for motor, home and life insurance under the Junction and Beagle Street brands.

Previous to this, Crossley has held a number of senior positions in companies such as Saga, Prudential, Barclays and Gillette.

She replaces Mark Holweger, who transferred to the US arm of the insurance division, Legal & General Insurance America (LGIA) and was appointed CEO there in September 2018.

Hickman said: “I’m delighted that Ali has agreed to join Legal & General, as our new managing director for partnerships. Ali brings a wealth of experience and expertise in developing commercial partnerships which will further enhance and help position Legal & General as the number one partner of choice.”

Crossley added: “I am thrilled to be joining Legal & General at this exciting time of unprecedented opportunity in the life and mortgage markets. We have new entrants and established players thinking very hard about how to optimise customer experience right across the value chain.

“Legal & General is the leader in its fields for good reason and has a great reputation for delivering long standing, mutually beneficial partnerships. I am honoured to be joining such an impressive, dedicated and collaborative team.”
