Landbay launches telephone sales team to support broker applications

Published on

Landbay has launched a dedicated telephone sales team to provide additional support to brokers and help progress buy-to-let mortgage applications from Decision in Principle through to offer.

The specialist buy-to-let lender said the new team will focus on communication, pipeline management and broker engagement, working alongside its business development managers to help ensure cases move smoothly through the application process.

The team will support both brokers and Landbay’s sales force by helping progress applications from Decision in Principle through to mortgage offer. It will also contact brokers who have not worked with the lender recently to better understand their businesses, lending requirements and the challenges they face in the specialist mortgage market.

The new function is being led by Jon Braddick, who has been appointed telephone sales manager. Braddick has worked at Landbay for more than six years, joining the lender as an account manager in 2020 before becoming a business development manager in 2022. Before joining Landbay, he held sales, account management and business development roles at Royal London and Aviva.

The telephone sales team also includes Joe Newton, Varshan Subaskaran, Salma Betioui, Stephen Abolade and Ross Laurie, who have joined as telephone sales support.

Landbay said the team brings experience from across the property and mortgage sectors, including previous roles as mortgage brokers, telephone business development managers and underwriters, as well as positions supporting landlords in sales and servicing.

Rob Stanton, sales and distribution director at Landbay, said: “As business volumes have grown, it has become increasingly important we continue to invest in the people, processes and support structures that help brokers place cases with confidence.

“Our new Telephone Sales Team has therefore been created to complement the work of our field and internal sales teams, providing brokers with additional support throughout the application journey.

“Jon brings strong specialist mortgage experience to the role and understands Landbay as a lender, and what brokers need from us.

“By helping manage pipelines, keeping in regular contact and identifying potential issues early, the team will play an important role in supporting speed, efficiency and certainty from DIP through to offer, while reinforcing our focus on service, choice and practical support across the buy-to-let market.”

Braddick said: “Having worked closely with brokers across the specialist buy-to-let market, I know how important clear communication and proactive support can be in helping cases move forward.

“The new team has been built to add further capacity and provide brokers with knowledgeable, practical support throughout the application process as our target market continues to broaden.”

Landbay said the launch forms part of its continued investment in broker support as lending volumes increase.
