Just Retirement has made three appointments at director level.

The group says the appointments indicate its ambition to broaden both its distribution capabilities and product range and also take a more prominent lead in the development of financial solution for retirees.

Mark Hawthorne joins from Alico where he was assistant general manager. He joins as commercial director reporting to David Cooper, group marketing & distribution director. His role will focus on the design and development of all aspects of the group’s commercial offerings including new partner and intermediary propositions, new product development, pricing and analysis.

Steve Lowe joins from Living Time where he was marketing director and prior to this from Prudential where he was marketing director for Intermediated business across Europe and the Middle East. He joins as director of external affairs taking responsibility for public relations, public policy, industry co-ordination and knowledge leadership.

Peter Borley joins from Skandia and prior to this Barclays Wealth. He joins as director of change management and takes responsibility for coordinating the development of the Group’s business strategy and delivering the change investment programme, which was recently accelerated following the Group’s acquisition via Permira Advisers LLP. He will report to Chris Berryman, group operations director.

David Cooper said: “Just Retirement continues to grow its already sizeable appetite to lead and improve financial services and solutions available to those at and in retirement. We will continue to drive innovation and set new standards for product design and solution development
