Just Mortgages receives defence employer recognition award

National brokerage Just Mortgages has been awarded the defence Employer Recognition Scheme Bronze award.

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.

John Philips (pictured), national operations director at Just Mortgages, said: “We are very proud to have been presented with the bronze award within the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. At this time of year with Remembrance Sunday so fresh in our minds we are reminded of the sacrifices that our armed forces make and so it is fitting that we play our part in ensuring our employees and clients in the armed forces and their families have our support and respect.

“As a part of the bronze award, we have pledged to support the armed forces, including existing or prospective employees who are members of the community and have signed the Armed Forces Covenant. We will also promote the fact that we are armed forces-friendly and are open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), cadet instructors and military spouses and partners.”
