Howden strengthens south Wales presence with five new appointments

Howden has added to its growing south Wales team with the appointment of five experienced insurance professionals across its Cardiff and Swansea offices.

Chris Knowles, Stuart Daviss and Geraint Jones join as account handlers, while Simon Peasley and Andrew Davies have been appointed account executives. The hires mark another step in Howden’s regional expansion strategy and reflect continued investment in its Welsh operations.

Stuart Daviss and Geraint Jones have taken up positions in the Cardiff office, while Chris Knowles joins the Swansea team. All three previously worked at Thomas Carroll or Towergate, and will now work alongside Howden’s account executives to support clients across a range of industries, as well as identifying new business opportunities.

Chris Knowles said he was “delighted” to join a team with a strong reputation and ambition in a new market for the firm, while Stuart Daviss described his first six months at Howden as a “whirlwind in the best way”, adding that he had been drawn to a “progressive broker that is already paving the way with its growth”.

Geraint Jones said the opportunity to join at a time of expansion was “very exciting” and expressed a clear goal: “making Howden the number one broker in the south Wales region”.

Simon Peasley and Andrew Davies, who also bring experience from Towergate, have joined the Swansea office. In their new roles, they will help drive further growth and client engagement across the region.

Peasley described Howden as “the perfect fit” and said he was keen to contribute to the business’s continued success by using his sector experience to win work from competitors. Andrew Davies echoed the sentiment, saying he had been drawn by the firm’s “supportive and collaborative culture”, and looked forward to making a “tangible impact”.

Gary Stevens, regional managing director at Howden, welcomed the new hires: “Chris, Stuart, Geraint, Simon and Andrew all represent the high standards we hold for ourselves and our staff in delivering excellent insurance services to clients, and they are exceptional assets to our growing team.

“Strengthening our presence in south Wales has been a driving force for us over the last year, and I am incredibly proud of the community we have created.”
