HLPartnership’s later life lending seminars now open to all advisers

Published on

HLPartnership has announced new dates and venues in September for its later life lending seminars.

They are open not only to members of the mortgage and protection network, but also for advisers who have an interest in this burgeoning sector and are looking to explore ways in which they can become involved.

The dates and venues are:

  • 10/09 – Village Hotel Club Leeds South, Capitol Boulevard, Tingley, Morley, Leeds LS27 0TS
  • 11/09 -Sketchley Grange Hotel & Spa, Sketchley Lane, Burbage, Hinckley, Leicestershire, LE10 3HU
  • 12/09 – Brand Exchange Members Club, 3 Birchin Lane, London EC3V 9BW

The events run from 10am to 3pm.

Hosted by HLP’s managing director, Shaun Almond (pictured), with the help of Legal & General Home Finance, Aviva and One Family, the seminars will explore topics that allow advisers to put later life lending front and centre for customers nearing or already in retirement looking to raise money.

He said: “With £1 trillion worth of property owned by over 55s, it is estimated that the later life lending market will double in the next 10 years and we believe, with our membership of the Equity Release Council, that there is a considerable opportunity for our members to involve themselves in the sector. HLP has invested heavily in supporting advisers and helping them to best become involved either to become fully qualified across all aspects of this increasingly important channel or to have access to our in-house experts to whom they can refer customers.

“Just under £4 billion of equity was released by homeowners over the age of 55 in 2018, with over a quarter of that figure being drawn down in the last quarter of the year. At a time when traditional mortgage sources at risk from moves by the Regulator to re-introduce execution only, here is a sector with high demand and a growing need for advice. With the support we can offer in the network, advisers will come away with a clear pathway to open up and develop a new and profitable business channel.”
