Fleet recruits North East BDM

Published on

Fleet Mortgages has appointed a new business development manager (BDM) covering the North East.

Chris Barwick joins the buy-to-let lender’s BDM team with immediate effect and will now look after a range of face-to-face relationships with advisers and intermediaries right across the region. He will be reporting to sales director, Ross Turrell.

Barwick (pictured) joins Fleet Mortgages having spent the last decade working for the Yorkshire Building Society, with eight of those years spent working within its branch network covering a range of roles including mortgage adviser and branch manager.

Most recently he was part of the YBS Share Plans team covering a portfolio of clients and new business development.

He now joins Fleet Mortgages as a BDM for the North East covering postcode areas including: BD, DH, DL, DN, HD, HG, HU, HX, LS, NE, S, SR, TS, WF, and YO.

Fleet is urging all advisers in those areas who are interested in its mortgage product range to contact Barwick for up-to-date support and resources.

Turrell said: “We have expanded our team of BDMs throughout 2018 and the addition of Chris, where he’ll cover our range of relationships in the North East, is a real boost to the business in that area. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience working in financial services, and covering a range of mortgage-related areas, but he also has strong relationship-building skills, and will be absolutely committed to helping and supporting our broker contacts in the North East.

“I’m sure he will be a fine addition to our full BDM service which is spread right across the country, and I’d urge any adviser interested in our product proposition, or looking for buy-to-let related support, to contact us to see how we can help.”
