‘Expert’ donates £1m to Citizens Advice

Martin Lewis, founder of MoneySavingExpert.com has announced that he is giving £1 million to Citizens Advice.

He set up the consumer website in 2003 and sold the site to MoneySuperMarket for £87m in 2012.

Gillian Guy, chief executive of Citizens Advice, said: “This is a wonderfully generous gift and we are very grateful for Martin’s ongoing support.

“In the last year along Citizens Advice  helped 2.5 million people up and down the country with the problems they face in their lives. This donation will make a huge difference to our service and the people we advise.”
