Connect hires its first field BDM

Connect Mortgage Club (CMC) has appointed Diogo Fernandes as its first field business development manager (BDM) for the network.

Fernandes has been in the industry for nearly 20 years and has worked in business development roles for Yorkshire Building Society, Advantage Home Loans and Natwest.

Liz Syms, managing director at Connect Mortgage Club, said: “I am delighted to have Diogo onboard. We have experienced a huge intake of ARs over the past year, with brokers really buying into the cost effective proposition we offer against other conventional networks. In order to build on this success and better support the requirements of our members and introducing partners, I felt we needed a professional and knowledgeable BDM on the road.

“Diogo brings with him a wealth of experience and background in building relationships. Through him and the recent appointment of Oliver Hunt as our new inhouse broker support manager, I am confident that we can better serve the needs of our broker community.”

Fernandes added: “Connect has already made a big impact on the intermediary market and I am delighted to join them at such an exciting time. I am eager to get to know our members and spread the word of the unique services that the company has to offer by building their presence with brokers across the country in 2015.”
